about

I wrote the lyrics sitting in Southern Cross Station & as my train headed North out of Melbourne. (Paul broke ‘the rules’ here! - he wrote the verse and chorus in one hit, rightly so).-Pete

HALF LIVED DREAMS - LYRICS P. PASCOE

Middle aged woman at the train station in her socks
Did she lose her shoes with the plot?
Bet she never saw that coming
Or maybe she did and thought: so what?

Don’t let your half lived dreams drag you down
Pack up your memories and head out of town
For there’s a road that waits, somewhere beyond the half moon’s smile

Well they made a Ferris wheel built for folks to fly
Now it’s broken white skeleton
Almost touching the half moon in the morning sky
Near the invisible stars we wished upon.....

Passing by half built buildings; some are half torn down
Winter’s half way here in this half loved town

Ring nosed teen, when we see your smile we see your despair
We see it in your eyes and your chemical blue hair
As you farewell your uncertain friend with a nod to lonely fear
And jump on half a train, out the window you stare

Don’t let your half lived dreams drag you down
Pack up your memories and head out of town
For there’s a road that awaits, somewhere beyond the half moon’s smile

Don’t let your half lived dreams drag you down
Pack up your memories and you can set out from this town
For there’s a road that awaits, somewhere beyond the half moon’s smile

Can you breathe with your half lived dreams, there’s a walk that may take a while
